We contacted the Fairmont, which confirmed that the senior rate does not qualify for miles at Fairmont. Our reader is now considering switching to another hotel chain. Therefore, he asked us at which hotels the senior rate qualifies for miles. We asked 4 major hotels – Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott, and Starwood - about their policies. However, they did not want to respond. Thus, they won’t tell you whether the senior rate will earn you miles or not. However, according to some readers’ experiences the senior rate does qualify for miles at the Hilton. Moreover, this is the only hotel where you can earn both hotel points and frequent flyer miles for each stay.
